How to prepare a giant clam for goo[DATA LOST]

  1. In every sacrificial practice, insert a knife into the center of its screaming orifice and, holding the knife vertically, cut precisely while its children watch. Adolescents, preferably.
  2. This should kill the creature ease its pain and you will feel his jaws relax.
  3. Now, flip the clam over. Insert the knife into the jaws just off-center and, leveraging the knife against the roof of the jaw, identify the major muscle holding the creature to the shell. In a practiced motion, saw this region back-and-forth with the knife.
  4. Spin the shell to its other end and begin the process on the other half.
  5. Noncompliant mouths will now speak. Noncompliant mouths will now open. Completely separate the creature from the shell.
  6. Sharpen your knife. After so much cutting, it may become dull from the clams that tried to stop you. Pay no mind. Put the edible part of the clam in a container.
  7. Identify two black sacks either side of the colored lips. pelvis. You need to remove these with a knife. There is a right balance to this. You must remove just enough by the stem. Otherwise, the clam will taste bitter.
  8. Rinse everything from the shell, meat, and innards with water. Keep lots of water. It's messy. Water.
  9. Cut. Wash. Cut.
  10. Now, flip the creature over. Look for a brown "foot" on the end of a white muscle. This needs to be removed with the knife.
  11. Baptize in saltwater. All there is, miles around.

Sincerely,
Gramlich

… oh, I should really finish this recipe. Don't think you need the coconut milk or peppers or other fetchings.

Have you ever seen the bowels of a clam?

It tastes fresh even when you pour lime over it for a reason. Once you chop off the bowels, there is an entire world living in there. Parasitic creatures with multiple limbs swarm outward. Microscopic creatures: centipede legs, crustacean claws. I squinted and saw individual plankton, bacteria, and nematodes interspersed in the mixture of fecal black sludge running contrasts with the oily and iridescent hospice.

I see it clearly now. Stomach lining bearing biomes. Abnormal shrimp catacombs hidden neath obsidian shale temples. Glacial museums house Cambrian coronations; the rituals are plain to all. The coagulated meat shivers inside of that ice and is held in coral bondage upon an ancient bedstone— its surface and shaft written in unknown cuneiform. The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.

How many lived and died? I do not know. How many times have you turned on the facet and flushed it all away?

[DATA LOST] be seeing you. Caroline.

Sincerely,
Gramlich

Mariners shipwrecked. Families submerged. Civilizations lost. There was a hole here. It wasn't picked up on the submersible's radar systems nor any topology or seafloor analysis. It wasn't mapped and cannot be explained fully.

From the pit, the dead swim out— eyes like prehistoric stars. And you wonder to yourself, "why do the fish come out at night?"

Sincerely,
Speaker of the Ninth.
