THIS IS NOT REQUIRED, THIS IS NOT RULES, YOU DON'T HAVE TO FOLLOW GUIDE BELOW
A way to make quick RPC draft
- Don't be shy if you don't have writing experience, we are here to help!
- DON'T RUSH. There is no race for RPC submissions.
- Make sure you get all the elements from: http://rpcauthority.wikidot.com/rpc-format (this part is actually rules) IF YOU HAVE LOW KARMA, DON'T INCLUDE IMAGES OR OBJECT CLASSIFICATION!!! WIKIDOT DOES NOT ALLOW POSTS WITH IMAGES FOR LOW KARMA USERS!
- Don't forget, we're Authority, not Foundation!
- If you want to break away from RPC Format, consider writing a Tale: http://rpcauthority.wikidot.com/authority-tales
RPC Class
- Alpha - considered safe
- Beta - object has unknown properties and can be dangerous
- Gamma - extremely dangerous, requires considerable effort from Authority to contain or is impossible to contain
RPC Type
(You don't need to put type in your RPC, it's just common RPC groups. Pick anything or any combination)
- Object
- Event
- Entity
- Location
RPC Property
If you are having difficulties with inspiration on this one, you can go to phobialist(dot)com, pick any of the phobias and think about the worst fear a person with this phobia would have. If you want a more personal experience, think of any of the concerns or fears that you have. Turn them up to eleven and think of what could cause something like this.
RPC Discovery
If you've decided to write about discovery, it's important to answer six simple questions:
- Who was involved?
- What happened?
- Where did it take place?
- When did it take place?
- Why did that happen?
- How did it happen?
Giving detailed answers to all these questions will surely make a great discovery .
RPC tests and research
Once RPC is contained, most likely Authority will be interested in testing it's limits and interactions. Why wouldn't it? Don't forget, tests are done by personnel and all those people can leave notes or provide feedback. From scared interns to demanding doctors it's an open field. Just don't go for all at once - focus on a couple of important characters but keep them in background.
RPC interviews and additional documents
These are optional, but can add a lot of meat to the story. If RPC is a place, consider writing an expedition to that place (don't forget three act structure and other handy tricks - they work even for small stories). If RPC is sentient, Authority would try to get as much information out of it as possible. If RPC is some event, affected might provide useful information.
Useful links if you're just starting out
These mostly applly to Tales, but knowing basics never hurts.
