CPS

Division: Containment

Definition:
The Cognitohazard Projection System is a method of projecting and displaying cognitohazards and memes via a handheld or worn device. Standard CPS units are a large screen displaying flashing cognitohazards, while also projecting audio cognitohazards via the speaker system attached. Solar power is normally the method of energy production chosen, and the current model can operate for up to 7 days before needing maintenance. The CPS can also be a shoulder-mounted or hand-held projector that can flash congitohazards along surfaces or in the face of a hostile. Speaker systems installed along the system also play audio-based cognitohazards. However, this is normally limited to only disabling memes since the sound can't be directed the way an image can. The operator will have to have a Theophan resistance higher than the cognitohazards they're using. CPS rigs are not widespread in the field. They are incredibly limited in number, and rarely used by MSTs beyond those dealing with spectral entities, in which unconventional weaponry is needed. However, recent developments have seen their use becoming more widespread.

Comes in a variety of calibers and is banned under international law. Due to its incredible stopping power and its ability to annihilate exposed flesh, it is normally utilized against RPCs capable of regeneration. As a result of its lethality and illegality, it is normally only provided to operators in more clandestine and isolated operations against a target that is needed dead rather than alive. Notably, the questions are by and large irrelevant to the test, but rather through the memes and cognitohazards laced in them. Most Site/Area Directors require MSCs to be completed every month, if not daily, while others see it as a violation of privacy. Most of these "regular" MSCs are Theophan 3 or 4, high enough to affect the average human, while more intense MSCs can go as high as 8 or, in the case of highly manipulative anomalies, 9, with questions entirely incomprehensible to the human mind, but able to effectively reveal outside influence regardless.
