Registered Phenomena Code: 194

Object Class: Beta-Red

Hazard Types: Ontological Hazard, Ideological Hazard, Auditory Hazard

Containment Protocols: Due to the nature of RPC-194, the current RPC-194-1 instance is to be contained within a soundproofed humanoid containment cell; the cell is to contain basic amenities and furnishings. RPC-194-1 is to remain under constant, muted video surveillance by security personnel, if any deviations in RPC-194-1's behaviour are observed, security and medical personnel are to intervene immediately.

Assigned personnel are to follow a routine schedule of providing RPC-194-1 appropriate accommodations to prevent the potential propagation of RPC-194's effects. Said accommodations include various theological/ontological texts pertaining to the nature of the Holy Trinity1, the Council of Nicaea2, and the Arian heresy3 Christian heresies (see Addendum 194-002).

Personnel in direct interaction with RPC-194-1 are to maintain ear protection at all times. All assigned security personnel are to be provided with noise-cancelling headsets and sedative agents in order to inhibit and detain potential instances of RPC-194-2 during an activation event. Under no circumstances are personnel to enter the containment chamber during said event.

In the event of a failure to contain RPC-194's activation event by RPC-194-1, Authority assets are to monitor the potential propagation of affected biblical text/inscriptions/icons. A disinformation campaign is to be immediately implemented in order to remove and replace said materials with unaffected variants.

Description: RPC-194 is a cognitohazardous agent that is capable of affecting a singular human host, designated RPC-194-1. RPC-194 may only be transferred between human hosts in the event of the termination of the current instance, in which the nearest individual will proceed to become the substitute. This effect functions identically in both the premature and natural expiration of the current RPC-194-1 instance. Individuals within the range of infancy to twelve years of age are immune to this effect and are incapable of becoming an RPC-194-1 (or -2) instance.

Once affected, RPC-194-1 will initially begin to label itself as a priest adhering to a denominational Christian faith, primarily Roman Catholicism or Eastern Orthodoxy, and begin adopting the lifestyle of either of the respective branches. This includes alteration of their linguistic knowledge, culinary preferences, and habitual behavior. Regardless of denomination, RPC-194-1 will practice various meditation and prayer sessions during specific times of the day in order to "retain a spiritual connection with the Holy Trinity."

After a period of nine days, RPC-194-1 will undergo permanent behavioral alterations, resulting in them exhibiting moderate agitation or anxiety. This is proceeded by RPC-194-1 attempting to locate various articles pertaining to theological or ontological origin, primarily on the concept of the Holy Trinity. When questioned as to its motivation, RPC-194-1 will state that the "heavenly Father" requests its presence at an impending meeting. For the next four weeks, RPC-194-1 will proceed to gather, read, and examine said texts.

Upon conclusion of the four weeks, RPC-194-1 will begin to undergo intermittent pauses in their daily activities before reverting to a catatonic state. The duration of said catatonic states varies, typically lasting between three hours and six days. During this time, RPC-194-1 does not appear to assume normal bodily functions, and as such, does not require sustenance or restroom usage. Upon reversion of said state, RPC-194-1 will claim to have been "displaced" to a location identical to the Bythian city of Nicaea during the events leading to the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD.

According to prior entries, RPC-194-1, during said "displacement", will encounter a scenario featuring various humanoid entities affiliated to a specific Christian heresy that will proceed to converse with RPC-194-1 in an attempt to manipulate, disprove, or convert its current beliefs in relation to the Holy Trinity to their respective doctrine. If RPC-194-1 is successful in the retention of their beliefs, it will immediately resume normal cognition and regain overall function of its body.

Failure of RPC-194-1 to retain its beliefs will result in RPC-194's activation event. Said activation event results in the modification of various existing, random biblical text/inscriptions to contain the ideology of the respective Christian heresy. This effect additionally extends to icons, modifying them according to said doctrine.

During this time, RPC-194-1 will involuntarily begin proclaiming their adherence to the said heresy for a period of ten minutes. RPC-194 produces various argumentative dialogue that is capable of convincing listeners within hearing range to abandon their current set of belief of the Holy Trinity. Said listeners, hereby designated as RPC-194-2, will vocally denounce their prior faith and assume the principles of the respective heresy, producing an identical effect around nearby listeners, further propagating the anomaly.

Addendum 194-001: Discovery Log

RPC-194 was discovered on ██/██/19██, following the death of a Greek Orthodox monk named Bemus Alexopolous near Mount Athos, Greece. The event leading up to Father Alexopolous' death was recorded and stored on a VHS tape, showing another Orthodox priest, designated PoI-3348, providing last rites. Following Father Alexopolous' death, various personal accounts of their experiences correlating to that of an instance of RPC-194-1 were discovered within their quarters by other clerical staff. Said accounts were stored within a private library until their abrupt disappearance.

Ten days following Father Alexopolous' death, a bishop discovered PoI-3348 stealing various monastery texts. Despite being ordered to relinquish said texts, PoI-3348 began exclaiming at the bishop before abruptly running toward the entrance of the monastery. PoI-3348 then proceeded to slam themselves through the entrance doors, interrupting an in-progress communion before fleeing the area, stating that they were under the "command of God" to "prevent the spread of Arius." This incident attracted the attention of an Authority embed, who proceeded to apprehend PoI-3348.

Following said apprehension, RPC-194's properties were discovered and PoI-3348 was promptly designated as an instance of RPC-194-1. PoI-3348 remained in Authority custody until their death on ██/██/20██. Acknowledging the declining health of PoI-3348, research personnel dispatched IVT-2990 to be within PoI-3348's proximity until their expiration; IVT-2990 was then provided their respective designation as RPC-194-1.

Addendum 194-002: Incident Report

Addendum 194-003: Unusual Activity Log

Following the events of Addendum 194-002, RPC-194-1 has reported a greater frequency of the usage of various Christian heresies, involving doctrines such as: Apollinarianism, Patripassianism, Donatism, Predestination, and Sabellianism. RPC-194-1 additionally recounts that the humanoid entities periodically employ more aggressive means in an attempt to persuade it from its belief, such as forced baptisms or verbal threats of punishment.

On ██/██/20██, an incident involving the heresy of Iconoclasm occurred where RPC-194-1 was unable to retain its beliefs, thereby leading to an activation event of RPC-194. While no Authority personnel were affected by RPC-194-1, numerous icons of Christ were reported to have gradually disintegrated, bleached, or fragmented within select locations. Authority resources promptly initiated a disinformation campaign, and all affected relics were replaced with their respective duplicates.
